this film is completely awful. ever been to art school? i think ive seen bits of this film in video class. weirdness for its own sake, awful acting. events that would be shocking end up meaningless.they killed again, who cares. everything supposedly "alternative" rolled together for a big soup of dullness. this movie is in no way on par with clockwork orange and a comparison is offensive. Still photos of the film would be more interesting for their colors and objects. The movie exudes boredom and nothing else, watching it is like being locked in a closet with dull suburbanite "weirdos" for 100 minutes, example: the character mad holding a knife in her teeth, why cus she thinks it looks cool? the brothers angel and sphinx "hey u sat on my ky jelly" is this to point out that their gay, big deal, like we couldnt already tell, carving love into the other ladies back, who wrote this thing? its REDUNDANT. I recommend it to NO ONE.

It's easy to tell from your complete lack of grammar that you don't have the capacity to understand this film. I'd love to hear you explain what A Clockwork Orange is about without having to plagiarise someone else's work.

But when you’ve made a better film, let me know and I’ll apologise.

Wow... I mean, I saw the "you just don't get it, bro!" cop-out stock argument coming from a mile away, but you even managed to squeeze in the even worse "let's see you do better" cop-out stock argument at the end. Thanks, I've had so much intelligent discourse this evening that such an example of mediocrity was most welcome.

you obviously don't realize that everything you lump together as "alternative" emerged from the era in which this film was made. you admit your own failings of perception by admitting that "[s]till photos of the film would be more interesting for their colors and objects."

do you seriously not understand that gay in 1979 and gay in 2008 are like, light years apart?

do yourself a favor; turn off the tv and read a book.

For the interest of UK viewers.

Jubilee will be shown on the More 4 channel this thursday night i think (You might want to double check your tv listings in case i'm wrong) Plus a documentary on Derek Jarman's life and work will be shown tonight on More 4.

As for my opiniuns of the film.

I like it. I know some parts of the film are a bit dated and some quite pretentious even. But who cares? Some people take it far too seriously.

Well, I left ITV4 on after the Quadrophenia film and saw this film.

It was everything the original poster said. A bunch of colourful (as in ridiculous make-up) Lesbians playing Monopoly.

Absolutley dreadful. Derek Jarman was an over-rated twonk if this is anything to go by.

This was more embarrassing than watching Zardoz!

I saw it as well. That was the second time i'd seen the film and i have to say "I dont know what i was thinking if i actually thought this film was any cop first time round"

It only really works as some sort of cult rellic and seeing people like Adam Ant years before he was anybody. By all accounts Ant hated he film for years but now (god knows why)considers the film to be a major achievement considering how little cash was spent on the film.

£200.000 was spent by all accounts. Thats a lot money for a film on this level.

I agree with the title of the post and the OP, this film is dreadful. It's trying to do 'performance art/dancing' etc but it's so awful it'sn not worth anything though.
