Terrible acting by some

This movie was produced and directed by Stanley Kramer, for God sake. How in the world can it be so bad! Gene Hackman and Richard Widmark were themselves, which is great acting. But Candace Bergman was terrible. Could this be the same actress who was spectacular in The Wind and the Lion? And in Ghandi! She was astounding in both. And Edward Albert, well, I've never found him to be an even decent actor. He was terrible in this. Seeing the different countries and places in 1977 was a treat, though.

Paula - I agree completely.

it was kinda cool to see the Forum all brand spanking new and by itself! Now it's surrounded and crumbled. The Miramar hotel down in Santa Monica was a treat too.

it's just too bad that the plot was so overwrought and unbelievable, even for the 1970s!

Candace Bergman was awful, that crying scene on the plane near the end was laughable.
