Old Woman Thrown Out The Window

It has been so long since I have seen this movie, but I recall much of it, especially alot involving the evil Patty Duke at the end, and I recall Donna Mills entering the house and finding an old frail woman. I thought she called the woman "momma" so then this would mean this was June Lockhart, but it was an incredibly unlikely June Lockhart then.

I thought later it did seem more like June Allyson. I see June Allyson was in the cast as Olga.

Now it could have been Olga that Donna Mills said, surprised to see that Olga, whoever she was, was still alive. I do recall that.

Duke then enters in evil mode and when we see Tony Franciosa and Roz Kelly drive up outside, or after they drove up, I don't recall, but all we saw of the hysterically scared old woman with Donna Mills was that she was thrown out the window.

Was this June Lockhart of June Allyson?

I've always thought that if it was Lockhart it was very different from how I have ever seen her before. I could believe it was Allyson.

I just watched this movie. The woman who was thrown out the window as June Lockhart. She played the mother of Donna Mills and Patty Duke.

June Allyson is in the movie, as well. She is the spider's final victim.

So it WAS June Lockhart! I just remember she was incredibly terrified and I had never seen Lockhart perform like that. I just concluded 'the performance' had to be coming from Allyson.

And where on EArth did you see this movie?

I was going through my old VHS tapes, to sell them on Ebay, and came across it. I had forgotten that I even owned it. I remember being scared to death of the spider as a kid when it first aired, so I thought I'd watch it one last time. Wow, this is one corny movie. The acting is awful by everyone involved, except for maybe Lockhart in her very brief role. It's funny how 30 years of life can completely change your view of a movie.

As for the part when the woman is thrown out the window...That shot is so poorly done by the stunt MAN that, for a brief moment I was confused why a man was falling instead of the old woman. The shot was (unnecessarily) done in slow motion and it was very obviously a man doing the stunt.

From my memory of seeing this as a kid, I could've sworn the final shot of the movie was of the red hour-glass mark on the girl's stomach as she's swimming in the water. Instead, I was surprised to see her bathing suit bottom slide down FOR NO REASON (presumably by some kind of remote controlled wire or something) to reveal the black widow mark as she's standing on the beach, waving to Donna Mills.?...Maybe there was an alternate ending, but the IMDB doesn't mention anything about that. I guess "remembered" the ending incorrectly.

Do you remember this movie from the 70's (1977)? It is about a woman who was bitten by many black widow spiders as a youth, who could then transform into a giant black spider during the "witching hour" of the full moon.

Also, could you tell me, or direct me to, where I may locate the original T.V poster ad for this film? I remember that it was a picture of a spider with 8 human female legs, a spider's abdomen, and a human female face attached to it's body.

The illustration appeared in T.V. Guide.

This would be an awesome collectors item if I could find it.

Thanks

This is a well-made movie with plenty of spooky scenes, but the fall from the window was so obviously a stuntMAN. I know this was made before anyone was thinking about streaming, DVD or Blu-ray, but they must’ve seen in the dailies how bad it looked. Another GREAT 70s made-for-TV movie, The Night Stalker, also has a plethora of unconvincing stunt work regarding the vampire. I guess you use what you have.
