ENDING(SPOILER)

Is this the movie where they end up finding the wife's body in her car(was it a corvette?) at the bottom of a lake? If it is, the only other part I remember is the fake wife showing up at the door and the husband insisting she was not his wife. I think it was all set up by the police to drive the husband into confessing. He went out to the lake to see if her body was still there and they followed him.

Still great. I am sure this is the movie you are thinking of, and there is a lake, but the wife is not at the bottom of it. She is dead, though.

For 70 minutes, I thought this was the most annoying movie. It's an interesting story that was being revealed slowly but the actions of the cop were so ridiculous I almost shut it off. I mean getting a sandwich before answering a call? (This was before he knew.) Handcuffing a 'murderer' to the railing? There were a bunch of idiotic things he did. Then, of course, the end is revealed. The last twenty minutes or so reveal one surprise after another. Ultimately, I enjoyed the story; it would make for a great noir type film - like that Spanish one from a few years back. This version though needed a few tweaks to make it really good.
