Plot Holes

This film had more plot holes than a piece of Swiss cheese. Are we to believe that LaSalle engineered the plot by being at the right roadblock and managing to whisk the daughter away from under the noses of the police? And then getting her a passport and setting her up in Italy? Who, in modern times, is going to get married without having sex? Not very likely!
