"I've fallen in love with a Japanese girl."
Very early on you find out that this is not a serious war film. They have to add other dramatic elements in and lecture us about racism.
Just interesting the way Tom phrases that. Japanese not Japanese-American. Then just a short time later he emphasizes that she was born in the USA and is as loyal as anyone. Ok so she is not Japanese then duh!
She is Japanese American!!
A shame this could have been a better and more important film. Instead we had to be lectured how the Japanese are good people too. Welcome to 1976.
