Why didn't we see more of Mr Newton's ''visions''?

Towards the film's 2nd/3rd act, we only ever see the vision of his dying wife and son on their planet.

Earlier we saw visions of the 19thC homesteaders seeing his limo and run towards him, but nothing else later?
