it says he plays "himself". Can someone who has really watched this film clarify? does he really play himself? was he friends with bruce lee?

I'M SURE HE NEW BRUCE LEE,HE WAS AT GOLDEN HARVEST AT THE SAME TIME BRUCE LEE WAS THERE IN 1971.HE WAS SHOOTING "THE ONE ARMED BOXER" AND BRUCE WAS SHOOTING "THE BIG BOSS" AROUND THE SAME TIME.
