"You give a little love" is used for the new Grand Theft Auto style Coca Cola commercial. As soon as I heard it I was like Bugsy Malone. I absolutely love this movie. I told my daughter about it and she said "cool." Now I gotta go and get that DVD. As a kid, I don't know how many times I would watch this movie. This was my favorite song and I loved how it ended the movie.

I felt the same as all of you did when you heard it on the commercial!!!! I was like, "oh my god, that's from Bugsy Malone!!!" My wife just barely remembers the movie, and my kids, well, I knew I had to get this on DVD for them!
I'm watching as I type this! The only place I found the DVD was on Netflix!

I was in a play of Bugsy Malone a few years ago, and when I went to the movies with my friends I was watching the ads and I heard the "You give a little love..." and I found myself finishing it in my head with "and it all comes back to you" automatically. It took me a minute to figure out the heck I knew that song but when I remembered I jumped up and went "OMG! BUGSY MALONE!" a very pleasant surprise!

I had the opposite experience.
I am in the Jr. version of that play now, and before i heard all the songs, I saw the commercial and I thought, " This is from the Coke commercial!"
The best movies probably sucked when they first came out.

But when Coca-Cola used "You Give a Little Love" in one of their commercials circa 2008, I got goose-bumps suddenly remembering the movie I'd loved so much as a 6-year-old kid. It prompted me to go purchase a DVD copy of the movie.
I'm now 40 and still love the movie. I'm going to watch it again tonight.
I'm watching the film now and in the opening shot there's a neon Coca Cola sign! Made me think of the advert and how the advert made me think of the film.
