Does not age well

I don't like to come on and spew hate, but just caught this movie for the first time, as it is one of those 70s films I just never saw, and I also love the director (Pollack) and lead actors (Redford, Dunaway and Von Sydow), so I decided to give it a go.
But unlike other films from that era, this one just doesn't age well and left me disappointed.
There are plenty of good bits in the movie and the performances are all on point, but I can't get over Redford sticking a gun in Dunaway's ribs, kidnapping her and then sleeping with her all in about 10 minutes of screen time. And of course it wasn't considered a rape, but played as romantic. very creepy.
Doubt today's filmmakers would make - or get away with - such choices.

But you will anyway, despite your supposed aversion to bein' a hater. Lol.

Try watching the movie again. Your silly hypersensitive feminism has clouded your perception of what actually happened.

People would complain more now, but that doesn't make it a worse movie. Women slept with spies they just met in almost every spy movie.
