Is this film still disturbing by today's standards?

I'm not trying to say this film should be easy watching. I understand it is still very shocking and repulsive to watch. I only ask because I have been considering watching this movie and I am slightly afraid to. I have seen many violent and disturbing films like Irreversible and Antichrist, so I was wondering if I would be able to take this film on (to see what its all about).

This film is a lot more disturbing in what it says about the worst aspects of human nature than it any of the atrocities that it shows.
