Not only is a remake a terrible idea, but with casting choices as Lady Gaga I fear it could very well be the worst musical ever.

But seriously though, I think this is one of those films that is just too difficult to remake. That and Lady Gaga would just be an awful choice. I also wouldn't be too keen on Helena Bonham Carter being part of the cast either. I could see James Marsden, I guess, but the guy is already in his early 40s. And I don't know about Jack Black. I can see why you suggest him, but somehow he just seems not right for the role (as much as I usually like him).
Of course. I'm not saying it should be remade, I'm just having fun. :-P Also, I know that Lady Gaga actually is a great singer, and Columbia is mainly a singing and dancing role anyway. Same with Magenta. Helena Bonham Carter can sing well enough, looks the part, and the role only has, like, 4 spoken lines. I know James Marsden and Amy Adams are both a little old, but they definitely look like a typical all-American couple. And I really do like Jack Black when he's being not all Jack Black-y. Of course, I'm open to hear who you think would be good.

shareI was a bit freaked out when I saw the story today because last night I was wondering if there ever would be a RHPS remake and that Jack Black would be perfect as Eddie. I also agree on Amy Adams since she has shown she can do fine in a musical. I had not heard of Oliver Thornton, but it looks like he was played Frank N. Furter on the stage.
I don't even know why I was thinking about this since I don't really want it to happen, but if they do it, I hope they do it well.
Minchin as RiffRaff is sheer genius! Someone further below says Izzard for Frank-N-Furter - that would be quite excellent, too.
