Pam Grier's Hair

Question about the shower scene where Carl Weathers breaks into the apartment to try and kill her. When she first gets in the shower, her hair looks like it does throughout most of the movie - not straight, but seemingly straightened and wavy. Kinda like Farah Fawcett 70's hair, only black. But then the rest of the scenes in the shower, the hair looks to be really curly. Not quite afro, but very different. Not sure if that's just getting it a little wet. It really seems like completely different hair. Was one a wig? Were the scenes shot at different times and then edited together?
