Did I miss something or was it never mentioned because sonny was wandering how the police found out they were robbing the bank. Was it the smoke?

I would think that the insurance guy from across the street called the police, either because of the smoke, or because the bank manager may have given a signal, like blinking a couple times, while he was telling the insurance guy everything was ok. Based on how fast the police showed up after the insurance guy left, I'd say he must have called the police immediately after he talked to the bank manager.
shareIt was the 1st phone call that the manager took. We only heard his end of convo but it alerted the friend on the other end. He called the police.
