i seem to remember a few other movies with the firestarting bugs. does anyone know what they were?

is teh new william friedkin movie a remake of this. i thought there was one slated but ihavent seen any links to this 79 version adn the 06 movie?
the plots seem really really different too. could be unrelated?

I think differently mate...Irrelevant of the bugs being in the skin - the intelligence is there...
Lets hope the 'bugs' are not just visually seen in human form - then it's just another slasher film.
If you remember the end of this film (I remember it vividly as I must have been about 9), I hope this ends the same way. With the CG and SFX available nowadays, it sure would be a hell of a eye opening finale.

I have not seen this movie, but I remember seeing the previews when I was a kid in the theater and being scared of it. I hate bugs!
I still have burned into my brain a scene of some girl picking up a phone and there being one of these things on the receiver!!!! HORRIBLE.
