Instead of trying for a PAT, Crewe goes for the fake and it's successful. But it only gets them one point, the same as if they'd kicked a PAT. Can someone explain this to me? Shouldn't that play have netted them 2 points?

The NFL didn't have the two-point conversion at that time. I guess the semi-pro league the prison guards team was in didn't recognize it either.
shareI was thinking the exact same thing when I saw the score. Since I was a kid playing football in the 70s it's been called a "two-point conversion". This being '74, the rule must have changed just after this movie was made.
