*spoilers* who believes that the Killer is....

Jess played by Olivia Hussey.

Before people jump at me, think about it. Psychosis can be triggered and murderous fantasies by obscene phone calls that can set Jess to commit real life horrors, it gives her an opportunity to commit hedonistic crimes.

She can make up her own phone calls, they were different from the lewd first call, later on they morph into more personal issues and consistency had changed in play acting voices like puppetry. The viewer can't see she is doing them, it is a guessing game.

Jess is cold and be cruel and plays on others emotions, and surprisingly lacks warmth.

Could fake Pregnancy all along.

Framed Peter.

Not afraid to attack or be as vulnerable as people think

The last one standing out of the bevy group.

Ant the end the Killer mocked about being missed out and avoiding going to the hospital in case she is bluffing. She could say she lost her Baby because of stress and trauma.

What do you think?

reply

Nonsense. Why would Jess go upstairs after the calls to check on Phyl and Barb? You forget the girls can hear the killer on the phone and Jess is not speaking, and Barb grabs the phone from Jess and has a brief exchange with the killer. Jess was not even in the House when Miss. Mack was killed. And, of course, we see Billy (partial shot of his eye) in the Barb's bedroom and he tries to grab her. And when she is sedated in the house all alone after killing Peter, we hear Billy still in the attic with the undiscovered bodies of Miss. Mack and Clare.

I think you're drunk

reply

Not likely unless someone was in on it with her and was making the phone calls. I don't think that's what happened, though. I sort of think the killer was that guy who walked up to Mr. Harrison and apologized when the kids threw the snowball at him. I don't know why. Something just seemed off about him and it makes sense that a psychopath would make an excuse to get acquainted with a potential victim. I suppose we'll never know for sure who the killer was, though.

There is not enough room on the internet to list all the reasons that can't possibly be right.

reply

What is with all the twits on this board trying to make the ending/killer something it isn't? Im with the dude above me--the internet isn't big enough to list all the reasons you're wrong. This is hands down one of the silliest things I've ever read--along with the moments from the idiot on the Rosemary's Baby board who says there is ample evidence that Rosemary is actually in an asylum throughout the entire film. Wait--are you the same guy??

"Your petty vengeance fetish will have to do withOUT Mr. Groin!"

How could she make up her own phone calls if the cops were also listening to those phone calls? Saxon's character even confronts Jess about some of the content of both her reactions to the calls with Billy and Peter.

I think you have to rewatch the movie, but barring a terrible plot hole (along with many other reasons this can't be, I just provided the most obvious to me), Jess can't be the killer.

This movie isn't going to cheat it's audience like High Tension.

reply

In my opinion, the killer is some guy called Billy.

reply

It really is that simple!

reply

No, this movie is not High Tension, thank goodness!
