why have people forgotten about Benji?

I think I can see why 5.9 is the overall rating of this film on imdb. Not everyone remembers it. Isn't that sad? Benji is one of the best family films ever, and sadly it's not the instant classic it's supposed to be. I'm sure everyone who still remembers this film loves it, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone said "Benji who?" I wish Joe Camp would call for a collector's edition DVD or something so that not only do people make sure this movie is remembered, but so that the imdb rating can be raised!!!

I'll bet YOU can't make that slurping sound Anthony Hopkins made in Silence of the Lambs...

Why are a bunch of "monsters", who have never seen this movie, allowed to vote for it?

Every person that I have ever known that has seen this movie has loved it. Maybe not everyone may give it a 10, but at least a 7 or 8.

If I were to vote a 10 for this movie, then the only way to get a 5.9 average, would be if someone voted a 1.8... So for all of us voters that love this movie, there would have to be nearly the same number of voters who hated it. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?

I grew up watching this movie, and now I am a 41 years old, a male, and this movie still gets me teary eyed EVERY TIME I see it! SO, Unless people are voting who never saw this movie, how could so many voters be a bunch of heartless monsters?

At the very least they should be voting a 5, and this movie should have an average rating somewhere around a 7 or 8.
