PBS DVD on Laura I Wilder

I watched it a few weeks ago. Wonderful documentary. The title is Laura Ingalls Wilder: Prairie To Page. It came out 2 years ago. Nellie Oleson as based on a girl named Nellie Owens. Allison once laid flowers on her grave. In addition, Laura was not a fan of FDR, and resented New Deal programs. She also nixed the obey vow in her wedding ceremony to Almanzo. He was happy she did. Furthermore, her daughter Rose helped to edit the books, but did not want recognition.

What really shocked me was that the late Middle Eastern dictators Khomeini and Hussein were fans of the show!

Allison, Dean, and Melissa also speak in the film.

Lastly but sadly, many contemporary literary critics state how they feel the Little House books devalue Native American life. However I still like the books.
