Jennifer Salt; good or awful? Can't decide.

She was very pushy, which of course was her character, but was it excuted well?
Remember her line while in the car: "QUEBEC!?"

I didn't like her performance, nor the rat's nest on her head.

"Worthington, we're being attacked by giant bats!"

reply

I liked her performance because she was good at playing a pushy, annoying reporter.

reply

Yes, I agree……she played that part well.

Seriously? Ms. Salt was FAN-TAS-TIC!!! I just caught a screening of this chilling picture last night at the cinema after having not seen it in years. Let the record show she OWNS this picture! Her timing is impeccable and her performance is wrought with conviction and determination. Hell, the entire dream finale is most electrifying. Mr. De Palma delivered us one serious punch but Ms. Salt was surely a benefactor to all of this. That anyone would question is mind boggling, but to each his own. I loved it. Grace Collier is an unsung figure, not only in De Palma's line of ground breaking women in his pictures, but of the genre as a whole.

When will you ever learn, this feeling is all you can discern?

reply

I agree, she was awfully good.

I sense her somewhat talking AT the actors, not TO them, like she was announcing her lines (a lack of intimacy) She was not bad, but just seemed forced, even if the character is assertive. Even her one line "Quebec!"...sounded stagy.

reply

She was great. She get the film going. For some reason she made me think of Sarah Silverman.

Yeah, I can see that (Sarah Silverman) comparison. She was a very annoying person, but she was playing a real type of character and did it well.

reply

I thought she was great...
but she reminded me of Stephanie Powers.
