That made no sense.

The guy from the 2nd segment looked himself in a reflection, and he had a zombie-like face. But in the Crypt he looks normal.

Also, the guy from the 4th segment was supposed to live forever. How did he end up in Hell then? And why did he look normal again? Didn't his wife cut his hand? And didn't he had something injected into him by the funeral parlor that made him feel constant pain? What happened to that?

The guy from the 2nd segment was dreaming when he saw himself as a zombie. He woke up in the car after he saw his reflection. But really, if you're gonna stay hung up on how they should look in Hell after death, then you might as well ask why none of them had any signs of death on them, and why were they all wearing different clothes than when they died?

I don't think you should even try to understand how the 4th segment makes sense with the rest of the film, because it doesn't. The point of this movie is to just tell creepy mini stories with scary twists at the end and somehow tie it together with the frame story, which also has a scary twist at the end.

I guess in the crypt they're all souls, including the guy from the fourth segment whose bodyis probably still alive, but his soul already left perhaps.

How could that be?

A very unique kind of zombie. Well not that unique. His body is alive, but his soul is gone. I'm just guessing.

I didn't even think that....I assumed the wife gave the statuette to the lawyer, who as the new owner, could wish him dead again.

And the car one, he was only a zombie in the dream he had before the crash....he then crashes and just dies.

~ I hardly looked at his face. His knees were what I wished to see. ~

Ha!
Never thought of that.

Gets Enid and hubby out of their but predicament, but next up would be hell for the lawyer ..

One thing about the guy in the fourth segment that's always bugged me:

-Something, something, spoilers -

So Wish #2 had him come back as he was just before the crash - and he comes back dead of a heart attack. Okay, I get that.

Then, Wish #3 brings him back to life...and he's pumped full of embalming fluid and really not feeling good about it. So, how did he get embalmed, and in full funeral mode, after having that heart attack, but still before the crash?

Granted, it's only a movie, but a movie (and a magic wish-granting thingy) really should follow its own internal logic.

They're all dead in the crypt, so they are probably in soul form. Of course they works look as they did when they were alive. They're not going to look as they did seconds before their death

I think the point is that he'd lost his soul yrs before. There is a scripture that goes "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?" Basically his character had lied, cheated, stolen etc. in order to make his fortune only to lose everything to creditors and then upon death finds himself having to pay the piper for eternity. In short it's basically a morality tale.

You could also ask why doesnt the rich guy from the Poetic Justice segment have a huge gaping hole in his chest....
