shareNot on Blu-Ray but regular DVD, mixed in with 49 other "Sci-Fi Classics". The big box stores have a 50-for-$10 (12-disk set) of different genres. Being a fan of the '50s Black and White "B" movies, I picked it up, ready for some groaners, and was pleasantly surprised with this one - which followed "The Incredible Petrified World" and "Queen of the Amazons".
Great character actors - Royal Dano, Geoffrey Lewis, John Chandler plus Janssen, Rush and Dillman.
Best line of the movie, when Dillman, the Rich Guy, offers himself as a volunteer deputy and Janssen, the Sheriff, says he'll have to take orders:
Rich Guy - "I'll have to forget who I am, just remember who you are."
Typical attitude of this class of people.
I was wondering about all the name actors were doing in a film like this, but saw it was a teleplay and figured it was for TV back in the '70s. Somehow I missed it and am glad to have run across it 40 years later.
I looked up Burnside, LA, where the movie was filmed and it is just off Interstate 10, so on my next trip back East I'll swing by and see how much the town and the mansion have changed.
let me know how the trip back was,,if they had any thing about it being filmed there,,along with the night stalker/night strangler this was my favorite abc movie of the week,,there are others wish they'd release, like winter kill,do not fold spindle or mutilate,
sharelet me know how the trip back was
Well, Plan B is sometime this summer, but locally (AZ) gas just hit $3.71 - three days ago it was $3.43. Any more jumps like that, i.e. $4.00 a gallon and trip is off.
Otherwise will post experience.
well if u do go please let us know if they have sign showing this was where the film was made
