Sinatra

I remember reading somewhere that Frank Sinatra was offered the role of Johnnie Fontaine but he refused. He had issues with Mario Puzo's book for the close resemblance with the seedy mob connection of Sinatra with the "Band leader" (Artie Shaw?). I don't know if Puzo ever admitted that the character was modeled after Sinatra.
