Remake is in the works! confirmed!
It's called Zero Dark Thirty, and it's a modern day take on the original. A soldier (Andy Woodward) returns from Afghanistan weeks after his funeral. that's...about all I know.

shareJoe Dante's 'Masters of Horror' episode 'Homecoming' was pretty similar.
shareSo is it an actual remake, or just a film with a similar concept? Man I hope it's the latter.. remakes tend to suck.
And yeah, Homecoming was pretty similar. Obviously more comic.
Homecoming was similar but a LOT more political and humorous than this movie was. I hope they're not remaking this. As a previous poster said, remakes SUCK! Look at the disgusting redo of Halloween we just got.
shareyou guys should also check out 'sole survivor' VERY eerie bit about WW2 soldier's spirits haunting their crashed bomber and it's discovered....CREEPY!!!
sharezero dark thirity, theres a phrase i haven't heard since i was in the Marines. having served in afghanistan and being a fan of the original director and his films. i hope they don't mess this up like they do every other remake.
then again, is a remake ever as good as the original?

looks like a remake to me.character's name is Andy.same story.
shareFangoria has an article about the remake... And it is a remake. At http://www.fangoria.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1583:deathdream-remake-lives-with-grace-director&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=167 with an article date of July 10, 2010.
When I checked out the director Director John Stalberg, Jr. and the writer Stephen Susco on the IMDB, I couldn't find this film listed in their credits. Perhaps they ran out of funding or couldn't fully secure the rights to the film. I don't know if it was ever actually filmed. It hadn't been at the time of the article.
I guess Zero Dark Thirty is out as the title now!
shareYeah, I saw Zero Dark Thirty. It was good, even better than the original. But it was more a prequel, than a remake. It was about what happened to the soldier during the war, before she returned home (yes, the soldier is a woman now).
