Don's apartment seriously needed a paint job

Not that Don would have noticed or cared, but yikes, did apartment landlords not bother to paint interiors of apartments back then? That place needed to be washed, scraped and painted with several fresh coats of paint!

It was a hippie pad. Don't be so square.

I'm square, too, and you're right. I liked the stained glass window on the bathroom, but otherwise Mrs. Baker's critique was pretty accurate. And that fridge was right out of the 40s! The landlord could've gotten more for it - it's certainly roomy - if it were painted.

Yeah, I'm nearly a fanatic about good interior paint work. God knows I've done enough of it over the years. lol So I immediately noticed how thoroughly grungy that apartment looked.

If I had to live in a place like that, and the landlord wouldn't bother with fixing it up or painting it, I'd just go do it myself.

Don't mess with me, man! I know karate, judo, ju-jitsu..... and several other Japanese words.

Think of what a San Francisco apartment like that rents for today. A lot more than these two could afford.

Today that place is worth a few million and is occupied by a rich gay couple.
