What kind of dogs were those at the beginning of the movie. The ones the hand was thrown to.

I may be wrong, but I thought they were supposed to be jackyls.

That house is not fit to live in. No one's been able to live in it. It doesn't want people.

Yes.. Jackals. They are very important in Egyptian mythology. In fact, Anubis, the God of Mummification had the head of Jackal.

I kept wondering why the hand was chopped off. They did look like genuine jackals.

Supposed to be, yes, but looked more like Great Danes...
