Request "Sixth Sense" DVD box-set from Universal...

Hi, guys,

http://www.universalstudios.com/homepage/html/contact_us/contact_form.cgi?email_id=10

Above is the "Home Video and DVD" e-mail/contact page for Universal Studios who happen to own "The Sixth Sense" series, and if enough of us contact them to let them know this show has fans then, who knows, maybe they'll release it on DVD.

It can't hurt.

To ChucksCherubs and anyone else with an interest in seeing a dvd release: Now, with the passing of Gary Collins, would be the time to start pestering the puddinheads running Universal Home Video again for a box set.

If you get the same tepid, noncomittal response I got, don't be shy about reminding them that you'll buy it off the black market just as happily as if their department were to actually commit to an authorized release.

Oh, for chrissakes. Are you bored, or just nuts?

What "overt piracy claims"? I just said that if the studio doesn't want to play, there are plenty of other people who will step into their shoes. That's a fact. I also said that there will always be people who will be glad to pay them for soing so. Also a fact.

And why should such minutiae even matter anyway to you, the *beep*-ing ?

Bizarrely, you, someone who clearly isn't a fan of the show, have managed to take time seeking out and visiting the Sixth Sense board (the last place one might expect to see you) to comment negatively on a wish for a dvd release. Stranger still, you sought out the Gary Collins board - VERY odd, given your feelings for the show - and took the time to weigh in with a similar negative vibe.

Why even bother when you consider it a "dreadful show" (your words, pal)?

And if, as you assuredly state, studio execs don't care about losing a few peanuts to bootleggers, then why bother bringing that up?

This will be your one and only feeding, troll.
Go hide under someone else's bridge.

@millerdsplaydzign:

Allow me to be somewhat distressing as the troll when I say that even if you post request(s) to Universal for a DVD box set of this show (I just did that minutes ago-May 12, 2013) there's no guarantee that said requests will be fulfilled. The reasons given out by Universal are just as good, but even more than that is the fact that DVD's of old TV shows have to sell in record numbers these days. Universal is a business, not a charity, and it isn't going to place a show as old as The Sixth Sense on DVD by itself if nobody's going to buy it. The DVD and TV industries have changed, and changed a lot; just putting an old show on DVD willy-nilly isn't going to work now (especially with the rise of streaming media like Hulu and Netflix.) Therefore, getting pissy at me or anybody else that tells you what I just told you is counterproductive; you may have to accept that the show might not be on DVD, or at least will be on DVD from a company contracted by Universal to do this (like Shout Factory.)
