Am I the only one.....?

Am I the only one who found these cartoons to be viciously racist? The bad guys are usually white guys dressed in three piece suits. Remember the episode with "HANK"? The dumb white kid who didn't pay attention when the friendly Hispanic Cop told him about stranger danger? And who does the stranger turn out to be? Yea, a WASP in a three piece, 'cause everybody knows, that when the white folk wanna boost a kid, they dress up in Armani and go to the 'hood to do it.
Of course, there was one cracker on the show that wasn't a bad guy and that was the white teacher, who was built like Jessica Rabbit and spoke like Marilyn Monroe singing to Jack Kennedy.

This was based upon Cosby's childhood and, back then, white man WAS the devil.

Money isn't the root of all evil. Love of money is.

You obviously have too much time on your hands.

In the earliest episodes, nearly all the characters were black.

The earliest white kid I recall and for the longest time, the only one, was the white kid when the gang went to camp, and he ended up having to help Russell who had run away.

But endless upon endless episodes dealing with lies, begging, drugs, theft, all the antagonists were BLACK! as were the heroes.

I've been watching reruns of fat albert and I don't see the pattern of all the bad guys being white. Usually when it was a pair of bad guys, one was black and one white. More "guest" charactors appeared as the show went on, many of them white. Some were good guys, some bad. I actually think an effort was made to balance out the races of the bad guys, to avoid any stereotype. Despite Bill Cosbys recent troubles, it's a good show to watch with kids, as it has a positive message.

It's probably the LEAST racist show I have ever seen. It is extremely inclusive of all colors and faiths.

reply

no, I never considered it racist. And I am hyper-sensitive to white racism!

reply

There were good white people and bad black people in this show too
