I guess I missed something. Boy said "Miriam pulled through," and that she was "frozen."
What happened?
She had appendicitis the next morning after the beach scene. I assume frozen meant a non-surgical treatment. Boy that was a busy morning...Miriam was taken off the island, Dorothy moved. All before noon!
shareThat conversation confused me. How is "freezing" a treatment for appendicitis? What did they freeze? I asked my mother (a retired registered nurse) about it, and she had no idea what they were talking about. She wasn't a nurse in 1942, but was in the 70's. So even though medical science would have advanced, you'd think she would have heard of prior treatments that no longer happen.
Anyone know what kind of treatment was referred to here?
