Billy: Was he Autistic?

Since Billy didn't talk, and he really didn't seem to understand the normal social constructs that most people understand, I really wonder if Billy might've been autistic.

I felt sorry for Billy all along, but I felt especially sorry for him when Sonny's best friend, Duane, and the r best of their crowd totally took advantage of Billy by having him have sex with a much older woman that he didn't know just so that he'd lose his virginity. Sonny didn't participate, and even told the other guys not to take advantage of Billy that way, since he really didn't understand what was happening, but it fell on deaf ears, plus Sonny made no effort to stop Duane and the rest of his friends from taking advantage of Billy that way.

Back to what I was saying before: Billy was taken advantage of by the other guys, and the fact that those guys did that proves what kind of guys they were, on the long run: not nice guys...at all..
