Actually...rather enjoyable!

I got this cheap on DVD and thought I was going to hate it BUT its certainly a film I will watch again. OK so it was done on a very cheap budget, the directing/editing is atrocious and most of the performances/actors are pretty bad BUT as soon as Naish and Chaney are on screen you start to enjoy it, both are very good in this film and Naish in particular seems to be enjoying playing a lead role and a rather nasty/deluded character. As for Chaney, despite his drink problem in real life...in this, his last film, you see he has lost none of his ability to get sympathy from a character and hes just so watchable. I also enjoyed the laser firing ring (!) of Dracula, especially when a CERTAIN lead character gets vapourised (that was a suprise) and when Dracula and Frankenstein have their final battle Dracula does some rather nasty things to Frankenstein to beat him...rather funny but VERY logical, ask yourself how YOU would defeat a creature like the monster and Draculas method makes you go YES!

The story is also influenced by Universal horrors to some degree...think about it....descendant of Frankenstein living in seclusion, experimenting...a crazy assistant on hand (Chaney), I could go on and on.

So I certainly recommend this movie to classic horror fans, if only to see Chaney and Naish, their class shines through every time.

The guy playing Dracula though was abysmal, really bad...whatever was the director thinking casting him!

Yes, and I need to add this movie showcased the best versions of both Dracula and the Frankenstein Monster. All that was missing was the Wolf Man
