*Lorraine*

Im interested in finding out what happened to Lorraine. How did she get the part. Was she an actress before Performance. Did the film affect the rest of her life. Is anything known about her now.

Donald Cammell came across her whilst living in Chelsea, London. He found her scavenging empty soft-drink bottles in order to collect the refunds. 'She was a little bottle merchant,' he remembered. Her whereabouts of present is unknown.

This original question prompted me to make a google search. There is a Lorraine Wickens who became a Head Teacher in one of the London Burroughs and I even remember seeing a 'phone number. Could this be the same person? As a child she comes across as a cock-sure London kid, but she had intelligence as well. If you are feeling bold, follow up this lead!

Here's a puzzle. Why do IMDb spell her name Larraine Wickens?

The problem with that lead is that the Lorraine Wickens who is the Head of a school in East Peckham is a MRS so we can guess that Wickens is her married name. Shame we can't find out what happened to Laraine. I hope her story was a happy one - her performance made a nice contribution to the film.

...now I do it just to watch their f----n' expression change.

I distantly remember reading somewhere that Donald Cammell encountered Lorraine searching through the bins for pop bottles in order to collect the deposit on them when returned. “A regular little bottle merchant,” is how he described her. This was when Cammell was staying in Chelsea(?) and he spotted her outside his flat.
