Who is your favoriter Frankenstein's Monster

Tell me name one of your favoriter Frankenstein's Monster from the Hammer Frankenstein movies.

The Revenge of Frankenstein

Horror of Frankenstein

Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell

Hi there! I absolutely LOVE The Evil of Frankenstein!!! It is the ultimate for me. Fabulous and delightful!!

Nothing - I did absolutely nothing, and it was all I dreamed it could be.

Although Freddie Jones as the tragic brain-transplant victim in Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed is not exactly a monster, he gets my vote. A close second would be Michael Gwynn's moving performance as the second Karl in Revenge of Frankenstein.

Honorable Mention: Christopher Lee as the "original" monster in Curse of Frankenstein. He's still quite a shock.

My absolute least favorite is David Prowse as the dumb-ass monster in Horror of Frankenstein. This is not so much Prowse's fault as the concept. Give me Kiwi Kingston's Universal reject in Evil of Frankenstein any day. (Prowse is okay, though, as the Neanderthal monster in Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell).

The thread title doesn't say Hammer Monster, so how come no-one is mentioning

Peter Boyle

Robert DeNiro

Shuler Hensley

?

reply

Wake up dude, he says "from the Hammer Films" right in the body of his post! Anyway, I will always be partial to Christopher Lee.

reply

Yes, sorry.

Then it has to be Susan Denberg.

Sorry to have to be so obvious.

My earnest request, repeated yearly.
Come home Rudolph, I've sorted the Mistletoe and Sherry.
Love, Santa.

It has to be Sir Christopher Lee from the Hammer original The Curse of Frankenstein. Lee is an amazing actor and the grotesque appearance was quite a shock and change from the Universal appearance made famous by Boris Karloff.

"The Cruse of Frankenstein"

That's the one where he goes to Antigua, right?

David Prowse followed by Robert Di Niro and Michael Sarrazin.

Everything will be OK in the end, if it aint OK,it aint the end.

Hate to depart from your list, but without a doubt the way Boris Karloff played the monster in the original is so far superior to anything ever done since. Those who haven't seen it in awhile, check it out.

2nd choice is Michael Sarrazin. Just another incredible performance from beauty and child like innocence to ugly rage and revenge.

I think the two performances above showed the child like qualities the monster possessed early in life to the rage and hatred brought on to them by mankind. They weren't just one dimensional monsters.

Its obviously the one in The Curse of Frankenstein. But overall, the best Frankenstein monster ever on screen is the one in Dracula vs Frankenstein
