What were the writers smocking? It was so bad I was offended

They undermined everything that first movie established. When those weird stupid illuminates appeared. Or whatever that was.

First movie made it clear that humans dumbed down to animal state. And apes took over.

Then out of nowhere some stupid mutans appear. The ones who are smart and can live normal life. Yet stay in some hidden cult. And I would really want to know what do they eat. Because they obviously don't grow any food. And don't harvest. Since they are too busy being in cult.

I read how much troubles they had with script. No wonder movie turned out so bad

Although Charlton Heston showed little interest in reprising his role as Taylor, studio head Richard D. Zanuck thought the actor was essential to the sequel. After some disagreement with the actor's agents, Heston agreed to briefly appear with the provision that his character be killed and that his pay go to charity. The writers decided to have Taylor disappear at the story's start and only return by the film's ending, and have a new protagonist for the major part of the story.

You know it always surprised me how stupid some actors are. Here you have a hit movie. So big that it instantly became cult classic. The one who stands time because of it's originality.

And then you are like: "Oh well I don't want to do sequel. It's beneath me. I want other projects"....
Then they usually proceed to do some crap no one watches and cares. And then 30 years from that that hit movie or tv show would be the only thing people remember them from.
