dvd

my experience is this never airs on television while all others run frequently on different channels and has done so since i was a kid. funny thing, the dvd disc of this actually has the usual old lead actor on the cover though this last flick stars another actor in the role while all other tons of flicks from the late 1940's to 1968 starred the actor synonymous with the part, as the lead (actor) in this is referring to himself, i actually thought for a second, "so where is he?", because after the former actor is so cemented in the part it's just impossible to put another actor in it, it's not like bond where they make a few movies each and you've grown up knowing there are several actors playing the part, still even there i find the people i talk to only see two actors in the part, another thing setting this apart is the opening is just a black screen with names and not the trademark animation, the opening credits go on for so long you start to understand how the animation along it made sense. funny how the tv announcer refers to station 3 since at the time of this movie there only were two channels.

spirit was packed up to leave,
for storage of memories,
low without hope in eerie home,
your ray of sunshine came through closet door,
with grace from brighter place,
opened the suitcase,
brought me out by living again.
