Rank these westerns

In the late 60's there were a lot great westerns made. The obvious five being The Wild Bunch, True Grit, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, and Once Upon a Time in the West. In what order would you say you like those movies? I'd say
1. Once Upon a Time in the West
2. The Good the Bad and the Ugly
3. The Wild Bunch
4. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
5. True Grit

reply

The Good the Bad and the Ugly
Once Upon a Time in the West
The Wild Bunch

True Grit
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

While I enjoyed all five films, I believe the top 3 are leagues above the bottom two. Those three in my opinion are amongst the greatest films ever made and all are in my top 50.

I spend my money on dope, sex and cheap thrills.
The rest of it, I waste.

1. The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly - neck-and-neck with OUaTitW, but there's just something special here that puts it over the top.
2. Once Upon a Time in the West
3. The Wild Bunch
4. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

As for five...well, if you're talking Coen Bros. remake, I've seen True Grit and like it immensely. I might even put it at three or four. But I haven't seen the John Wayne original, and I've a feeling that's what you're talking about.

If you're talking Westerns in-general, I'd put High Noon on that list somewhere. If you mean the '60s in particular, maybe A Fistful of Dollars.
