Are you all mad!?!?!?!?!?! 10 stars??!?!?!?!?

I love Mario Bava and specially want to see his late sixties work. I wasn't expecting a masterpiece but.....this film was DULL!!!!!!!!! This is not a very good even taking into account it was a cheap horror film.

Long slow stretches. It's confusing, first it's a slasher movie (doesn't show much slashing, blood or terror), then it's a ghost movie. Virtually no suspense even though lots of women being killed. I was not expecting great acting so I wasn't bothered by the performances.

The only good thing in the movie was the lead actors groovy menswear. I want to wear matching shirts and pants like him, with the little silver belt hanging around the waist. It was fun that the lead actor look A LOT like Clint Eastwood!!!!!

Please explain what is so great about this film. Bavas Diabolic and Five Dolls for an August Moon are SO much better and enjoyable!!!!! I have ordered Four Times that Night and I hope it's better than Hatchet for a Honeymoon!!!

It's not a slasher film OR a ghost story. It's a psychological thriller, and a very symbolic one at that. I didn't find it boring at all. On the contrary, I found it extremely interesting and visually stunning, and even a little bit moving at times.

Movie girl: Yes, I ws quite enthralled with the story too. It was stunning and moving, I did think of Psycho with Norman Bates, but this was different.

I can see how some people might consider it dull but I think it picks up nicely in its second half, and overall it's quite beautiful to look at (scenery as well as women).

What do you think this is, a signature? It's a way of life!

I guess ill be the one person to agree with you. This film is just plain awful. Boring as hell, the main character I couldn't even remotely like (even as a villain) because he was just so lame and un-relatable. Un-realism to the max (NO detective would be that obsessive, watching a film just to tie it with what your suspect was watching to hear a scream sound? Sorry, not going to ever happen) His constant moaning and crying over his dead wife talking to him was just cringey and not even funny. Plus one of the most misleading titles for a horror film ever (a couple drops of blood does not count as gore) I like Bava and a lot of 60s/70s horror films but this is one of the worst horror films ever made. I just cant grasp the hype this gets. I cant find one genuine reason to like it.

Thank you so much. These are my sentiments exactly. I will try to watch the film again taking into account what some of its defenders have said about it. I have very low expectations so it can't get any worse, right?

I thought it was decent

I didn’t think it was dull at all. I enjoyed the story and the visual style. If anything, I felt the actors weren’t the most compelling but I did like the overall vibe of the film.
