What type of job/career was Bond planning on doing after getting married?

In the stable scene, where Bond proposes to Tracy, he mentioned that he was going to leave MI6 after getting married and that he would have to find another job to take on - I have always wondered which vocational route that Bond was planning to embark on? Was it ever mentioned in the screenplay and/or novel?
