Is this a Xmas film for anyone else

OHMSS is probably my favourite Bond film, but I also regard it as one of my favourite Christmas films. In a similar vein to Die Hard it's an action film set at Christmas (most of it). I always love sticking it on over the holidays. Anyone else do this?

reply

Well, sort of, I guess, as it would seem I've watched it 6 times out of 13 in December and another 3 times in January. Certainly a Wintry number.

I think of it as a christmas film. It is my favourite Bond film and i watch it all year round anyway.

Why not!

reply

Yes. Also to me it's my go to christmas movie (as is Pink Panther... and Black christmas). But then again, I always watch some Bond movies in November/December. That is my Bond time. I never watch time in a different time of the year.

The Christmas season would be like the optimal time to watch this movie, yeah.

hear, hear. a lot of positive comments here about this bond flick, this is definitely the bond movie including most colours, the sound was a bit off at times, moneypenny was never funnier, the lip thing she does reminded of stewie in "family guy" after touching brian's mouth, nasty how they got rid of that actress after 1985 so there wouldn't be an age gap between her and the new bond, and the 1989 movie was so violent they had to raise the age limit, i quit watching after 1985, john glen pretty much ruined the franchise for me. neat how the opening credits was a throwback to the earlier bond flicks, one is honor blackman, both her and diana rigg left the cult series "the avengers" to star with bond, and the male star from the series joined bond in "a view to a kill". blofeld's henchmen crashing into trees looked hilarious.
