Fantastic Film

What a great film here with my only complaint being that Kinski’s voice was dubbed.

I know it was used in several other westerns, but does anyone think the main character was actually a ghost?I’ve searched around in the usual places and I can’t find any reviews that explore such a theory, but I’m convinced of it. Was he actually bitten by the rattler while on the chain gang in the beginning? Kenski also wore red like a demon and executed the majority of his attacks from under ground. One thing is for sure: Acombar’s men were scared to death like they were fighting something supernatural.

I loved how Margheriti blended gothic horror with spaghetti western here in this unique film. The only obvious Margheriti crafted miniature I noticed was the Bell tower, and it was wonderfully done. Great opening theme that fit the mood perfectly! Phenomenal supporting cast of genres regulars. 9/10
