WOULD NOT HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE (End spoilers)

Just watched this on the "Cult-Classics Collection" that I bought at Wal-Mart.

The D.A: Nah, bro! Tear that resignation letter up, you lucky devil! We'll just keep this between us. This pic is sexy, though. Can I keep it? Thanks. I'll leave it next to my desk. By the way, how was that young tail anyways?

The wife: (Grins) Gosh, our bridge nights sure must be boring for you to be nailing jailbait, George! Hey, I have an idea. Let's start letting all the teens party in the basement with their hippy music and whatnot. Just try not to trip over your old man boner.

Of course this is 1969 we're talking about, not 2013. So maybe I'm wrong...

It's "hippie", not "hippy".

And yes, you are wrong. Of course what happened would not happen in real life; this was a movie, and movies, by definition, are not depictions of real life, in most cases (yes, I know some are, so don't jump on me for that But most aren't. I seriously doubt if any of "The Hobbit" movies were historically accurate). This was an exploitation movie, using the "free love" theme as its basis.

The basement scene at the beginning should have been enough to let you know to just give in to suspension of disbelief and go with the movie, and not to expect anything realistic.

As an aside, I found it interesting that the live music that we heard in the basement scene contained a lot of horns, but there were no horn players in the scene. That must have been due to those funny cigarettes they were smoking...

This was the best movie ever! Watched it with the entire family on Christmas Eve. Was it a realistic depiction of life in 1969? Of course not. It was fun and entertaining.
