This time of year I get nostalgic about this film

The first time I saw this movie was on New Years day, either 1979 or 1980,I was utterly charmed by it. It was after the parade and during the football game. A local TV station showed it and I waited throughout the rest of the year to see it again. It wasn't until the next New Year's day that it was shown again, then it became part of the local TV station's regular movie lineup. And it was shown more frequently. I haven't seen this movie since the 1980s. I wish it would pop up on Cable.

Badder than old King Kong, Meaner than a Junkyard dog

It was on today a couple of times on the new MOVIES channel, which is why I came here to look it up. Hadn't seen it since I was little (except for when it was shown on the THIS channel a few years back) for some reason it's rarely shown on TV. This is the first time I've actually seen it all the way through. It's fun, it's slick with some sick humor and it's plain fun to watch---especially since it's got Oliver Reed, Diana Rigg, and a whole other cast of great actors backing them up (including Telly Savalas.) It's good old-fashioned fun, and I even cracked up a couple of times at the shenanigans the assassins go through to knock each other off---that was a trip in itself.

I just saw it on the MGM channel yesterday and I remember seeing it on broadcast TV in the early 70s. I just had to laugh because MGM blurred out the busts of some of women who displayed deep decolletage. I'm pretty sure that wasn't the case 40 years ago and was really surprised by that decision.

I agree that it's a very charming movie.
