Weren't there rumours...

...that some of them had affairs with eachother? Like the actress playing the Mom with Greg (when he was older)? Or am I imagining that?

reply

Not really affairs, but the Mom (Florence Henderson) did once go out with Greg (Barry Williams). Although it probably seemed a big deal to Williams at the time and even later, as Henderson tells it, it was little more a courtesy date, indulging for a moment a heated-up young man.

Apparently all of the siblings dated after a fashion too, with their opposite numbers, but seemingly nothing too serious.

reply

Florence Henderson was also married at the time. Barry Williams is kind of an attention whore, so he clearly took a dinner out with a friend/colleague and made a mountain out of it.

reply

Every celebrity bio has to have some bombshell revelation in order to sell. I guess this was his.

reply

Or maybe she wasn't telling the truth and he was. I'm pretty sure he said they kissed passionately once or twice.

Yeah I also heard the siblings dated too. Most actors end up dating eachother in film sets, so nothing surprises me.

reply

You are pretty sure? Please provide a link to a reputable source.

reply

Lol okay maybe I'm not so sure now. I guess it was more him who had a crush on her. If I do find the source, I'll post it. Heck, this was years ago, so I doubt it I will.

Thanks for the links.

So Mom was in a sexless marriage? Mmmmmmm. And she went on a 'date' with 16 year old Greg to humour him?

Pop went cruising around Pasadena?

Marcia prostituted herself for cocaine??!!!

Greg was stoned during filming and later became a drug addict?

Someone should make a film about what happened during the final year of filming and afterwards once the cameras stopped rolling. I think it'll be make riveting tv.

To avoid getting sued they'll probably have to wait until everyone is dead... but maybe by then nobody will be around to remember the show anymore?

On the other hand, I'm still watching re-runs on The Love Boat. ;) (on today at 5:00 on MeTV)

reply

You must be in the US in order to watch re-runs. The Love Boat was very entertaining....although a bit repetitive in the end.

reply

Yes, California. I guess a lot of the episodes are on youtube as well.
Not in the US, huh? I heard a Love Boat knockoff became very popular in Germany as well.

reply

I'm Australian, it was very popular there and they did show reruns for quite a few years. I believe it was popular everywhere and was dubbed to many languages. Yeah I imagine in youtube they'll have some episodes.

reply

Aha, very good. We like Miss Fisher's Mysteries and are hoping it will be a film soon.
