How prescient for the civil rights movement to begin several years before 1968, when the ending of this movie invented racism.

Indeed. Before this movie came out, nobody in the history of humanity ever expressed fear or anger at someone with a different skin tone. Romero's ghost should be ashamed of itself for having invented racism!
