Anyone else have trouble following this?

for me it was just a random combination of voices and images, not necessarily related to each other either

Same here, I definitely did not follow all parts of the story line. But then again, this is how I more or less expected this movie to be. If you have watched movies from Soviet Union or socialist countries before, then you should be familiar with the style. But if you are used to Hollywood movies, then I can imagine how this movie could be a shock.
