I saw THE FOX in a theater in Los Angeles in 1967 or 1968, and it's one of my all-time favorites. I thought it was very well done, even though so terribly tragic. I think it was the first time I ever saw Keir Dullea. If there's any way to vote for it being released on a DVD, let me know!

Yes. It was on TCM tonight for their gay themed movie month. I just saw it. Loved it. Dave from 2001 is in it.

I saw this last night at a screening in London. Haven't read the book but the film was mediocre, apart from Sandy Dennis. Half the audience were howling at some parts. How it got those Golden Globe nods I don't know.

`The complete film isavailable on youtube at this moment. Titles The Fox (1976)

I've just watched this, and it's quite good – an time capsule about a much different era. I suspect the book is better, and books generally are, but the performances and cinematography are very good. Those looking for validation may be disappointed, but as a film, I rate this 8/10 stars.

I'm not sure if this is the movie I'm looking for, do one of the women have a disfigured hand?

reply

No disfigured hand, as far as I recall, but a tree falls on a woman, and everybody hears it.

Thank you so much, WarpedRecord! I've must have gotten this mixed up with another movie. May go post on the Need to Know boards to figure this one out...
