It's still unavailable on home video, except for the lazer disk version, which was issued back in the mid-90's, as a double feature with "The Haunted Palace".
I bought it on lazer years ago and can tell you, it's a really odd film.

The blu-ray is due out July 7 2015.

It's available here in the UK on amazon.co.uk ("Curse of The Crimson Altar") or in the U.S on amazon.com as "The Crimson Cult" but sadly the U.S Kino blu-ray has a change of music score due to copyright politics in the U.S! The UK print is stunning though!

at the cheezy movies 2017 dvd release they open with a message almost apologetic in case its feature appears to be in poor quality, but as the actual movie starts i was surprised how it's in great picture and sound quality, all the stills on the dvd cover is in b&w, so i was also surprised this is only the second colour movie i've seen boris karloff appear in, apparently this was his very last flick, can you believe the original old frankenstein monster from the 1930's born the in the 1800 century were still in flicks close to the 1970's "halloween", "the exorcist" and the likes, even his co star in this, christopher lee, is appearing as an older fella, karloff is very recognisable though in a wheelchair, man did he have screen presence or what, it seems like he could have been a regular star if he didn't get associated with horror, speaking of this, how cool is it that vincent price started off as a regular handsome lead but didn't feel comfortable until he entered the horror genre of which he's now an icon. this starts off very weird but almost immediately turn into something looking like a dull tv episode of the british horror series "hammer house of horror" i think the title of it is, featured in many releases of elvira's thrillervideos, you may have a different opinion on that british series, and i've liked some parts of it, but you can't exactly call that theatre like movie features, of course it's better than anything by today's standard. i also got this by the uk title.

swell time in town,
your warmth float around,
could stay forever in your arms,
in company of good heart,
at the airport you had to say goodbye,
and nights no longer fly.
