Pattern under car in water

The first time that Chitty transforms into a boat there is an overhead shot and we see a distinct symbol of some sort under the car, in the sand.
Does anyone know how it turned up in the movie? It is clearly a "goof" but I have yet to see any explanation for it.

Not sure what you're talking about. There's nothing but sand underneath the car.

I thought it happened to be the way the various sands under the water formed. I've actually seen patterns like that at the beach.

Maybe dark seaweed or something.
