I have thought this was a hilarious movie since I was a kid! Truly funny stuff....I'd have to say some of the funniest lines uttered include:
"Don't rush me! There. There's your Portugee....what's left of him!"
"It's powered by some kind of animal under the bow, it is!"
..of course, followed by:
"I'm of a mind to have a hand at the helm!"
Brilliant.
Blackbeard repeating something like "c'mon Coach we've lost three events already".
And, as others have said, the one with the rubbing alcohol
Loved this since I was a kid. Showed it to my teenagers and they had tons of laughs. Ustinov was brilliant in a really underrated comedic performance.
What always gets me in a fit of laughter is when the Coach asks Blackbeard if he never ever did a good deed, to help be free of the curse, and Blackbeard blandly replies that he never did a good deed, ever.
