hey, just noticed this is the same hat he wore in "rio bravo" with the duke!

And the yellow shirt he wears when showing off his shooting skills to Lily, is the same he wore in 'The Sons of Katie Elder'.

HEY, YOU HAVE TO PICK UP "DEAN MARTIN....LIVE IN LAS VEGAS" CD.....THIS GUY WAS SO HYSTERICAL......

RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A SONG..."I THINK MY SHORTS ARE ON BACKWARDS'.........THE COMEDIC VALUE OF THIS MAN WAS WAY UNDERSTATED, AND UN APPRECIATED......

this happened a lot in old westerns. I think actors wore the same clothes a lot and owned a lot of them. Audie Murphy wears the same clothes in many of his movies. a few different outfits repeated too! But Rio Bravo was like 10 years or more before this movie so that is kind of weird, unless each actor back then had his in-studio closet to pick from.

James Stewart refused to wear any other hats. He'd just clean or stain the same old hat as necessary. While doing the commentary for "Winchester '73" he told how John Ford had wanted him to wear a different hat in "Two Rode Together." Jimmy refused. Ford got back at him the next time he directed Stewart. Jimmy didn't wear a hat at all. That was in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance."
